If you live in a house or apartment with several walls or a lot of distance between your devices and your WiFi router, you might struggle to get a strong signal sometimes. Your connection can drop or you can just suffer from a REALLY.SLOW.CONNECTION. Fortunately, there’s a trick to make your signal stronger, and all you need to get started is to drink a can or two of beer!
Your WiFi router shoots out those crazy WiFi beams, but it doesn’t know where you’re located, so it sends them out in all directions. That’s a lot of wasted signal going where you aren’t.
But fortunately, you can build a contraption to surround the antennas to ensure that they only point in the direction you want. You can use any reflective bendable material to do this, but using beer cans forces you to drink some beer, which is a nice bonus.
Cut the bottom off the can…
But leave the top connected by just a small piece as you unroll the hollow beer can tube you’ve created.
You’ll be left with something that looks like this to slide over the antennas of your WiFi device.
Your signal gets stronger, meaning your WiFi becomes faster and more reliable. Celebrate your achievement by drinking the other four beers remaining in that six pack you bought.
Here’s a video of the whole simple process if you need it!
